Best Whiskey for Peach Whiskey Lemonade
One of the best things about this cocktail is how easy it is to customize. Whether you prefer a flavored whiskey or a classic bourbon, both create a delicious drink, just with slightly different flavor profiles.
Peach Whiskey
If you’re looking for a sweeter, fruit-forward drink, peach whiskey is the way to go. It enhances the fresh peach flavor and creates a smooth, easy-drinking cocktail that’s perfect for hot summer afternoons.
My favorite is Traverse City Whiskey Company Lakeside Peach Whiskey. Made with Michigan peaches, it has notes of ripe peach, brown sugar, and sweet cream that pair beautifully with fresh lemonade.
It feels like summer in a glass and is my first choice when fresh Michigan peaches are in season.
You can also try Jim Beam Peach Whiskey that is readily available at most retailers.

Bourbon
If you enjoy a richer cocktail with a little more depth, reach for your favorite bourbon. The vanilla, caramel, and oak notes balance the bright citrus from the lemonade while allowing the fresh peach flavor to shine.
One of my go-to bourbons is Buffalo Trace. Its hints of vanilla and brown sugar add just enough sweetness without overpowering the fruit, creating a smooth, balanced cocktail that lets the fresh peach flavor shine.
Which One Should You Choose?
Choose peach whiskey if you love sweeter, fruit-forward cocktails.
Choose bourbon if you prefer a richer, more classic whiskey flavor.
Can’t decide? Try making one of each! You may be surprised how much the choice of spirit changes the personality of the cocktail.
No matter which you choose, fresh, ripe peaches and a quality lemonade are the real stars of this recipe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use bourbon instead of whiskey?
You sure can! Bourbon’s notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak pair beautifully with fresh peaches and lemonade, creating a richer, more classic version of this cocktail.
Can I make this ahead of time?
Absolutely. Mix the whiskey and lemonade a few hours before serving. Add the peaches, ice, and any sparkling ingredients just before serving.
What peach whiskey works best?
I listed my favorite above. However, any quality peach whiskey will work. If you don’t have peach whiskey, use your favorite bourbon or whiskey and muddle (This post may contain Amazon affiliate links. By clicking on an affiliate link I may financially benefit at no extra cost to you.)
