Memorable Signature Cocktails 101: How To Create Tasteful Memories

Wedding Or Other Big Event: Time To Make Lasting Memories

We are making memories one drink at a time!

Weddings or other big events have so much build-up and go by so fast. Creating Memorable Signature Cocktails can really elevate your event and give you and your guests a lasting memory.

Let me show you how and why this is important in five easy ways.

Memorable Signature Cocktails Exposed

Here is the truth, most Signature Cocktails are just regular cocktail recipes that are personalized for your event. You can choose an elegant drink or any beer on tap and still add your personal touch.

For example, The Renee-A-Rita is basically just a Margarita that I put my own personal name on. You can do this for any special event but for a wedding, it adds a level of importance.

Personalized Signature Wedding Drinks To Give Your Wedding An Extra Sparkle

The Wedding Reception is realistically only a few hours long. Packed with speeches, dinner, dancing, and the like. What can add a special splash to your Reception are Signature Wedding Drinks.

Any Signature Cocktail created properly will make a lasting memory for those who drink it as well as for the Bride and Groom. You will be surprised how many times a friend will reach out and say they are drinking one of your ‘Wedding Drinks’.

One thing to consider when you are choosing your Signature Wedding Cocktail is what size your event is and whether it will it be easy for you (or a bartender) to make it in advance or on the spot. Either way, I’m sure it will be a crowd pleaser.

Cute Signature Cocktails

We live on a lake and we enjoy throwing parties now and again. I love choosing a signature cocktail to serve to my guests. It is usually my favorite drink of the summer (or some twist on it). This Memorable Signature Cocktail usually has a clever name for my guests to enjoy.

At those lake parties, I don’t want to worry about constantly mixing drinks for everyone so I try to create something easy to make ahead. I do however make signage so they all know what they’re getting (even though I gave it a clever name).

On the other hand, if we are throwing a small party, I like to mix drinks for everyone. You have to decide what is most important for you and your event.

Bright Ideas That Don’t Get Them Too Lit Up

I used to believe that the boozier the better when I ordered a drink for myself and that is because I don’t drink many cocktails at a sitting. When my friends tried my cocktails they usually thought they were too strong.

The average person drinks more in the evening than I do, and with that being said, you don’t want them drunk in the first hour of your event. Consider what you are serving and how it will be received. Follow your gut, you will never go wrong!

I often find it best to have a sign that lists the ingredients at the bar because you will get questions no matter what your specialty drink is.

If you are having multiple drink choices it is nice to display a cocktail menu. Plus if ‘Tequila Makes Melissa’s Clothes Fall Off’, you don’t want to serve her El Aggressor (named after the Bride who chased this Groom into marriage) since it has Tequila in it.

How To Create Those Memorable Cocktail Names

Here are my top 5 ways to help you create Memorable Signature Cocktails. I could have gone on and on but I used my top favorites. See what works best for your special day.

#1 Where Are You Getting Married? Or, Where Did You First Meet?

This can quite possibly be an easy way to create a drink name that is meaningful.

Sunset Mimosa

Let’s say you are getting married on the beach in Key West Florida at Sunset. You could use a Sunset Mimosa as your Signature Drink. It is beautiful as the sky at sunset. Then you can rename it the “Key West Sunset”.

Or, how about if you met in college at Michigan State University? You could take that same drink and name it the Sparty Sunset.

#2 Family Last Name Creates A Memorable Signature Cocktail

If your name happens to be Rose you could go wild with any drink that has Rose wine in it.

The Deliciously Spiked Palmer Palmer

Another one is “The Palmer Palmer”.  If your last name was Palmer you could use a spiked Arnold Palmer as your Signature Cocktail.

#3 Wedding Or Love Terms For Your Memorable Signature Cocktail

Wedding or love terms seem pretty easy. There are wacky words for love that you could create for almost any cocktail or brew.

We could start with the Marry Me Martini or a Say I Do Stout (for beer lovers). Then there is the Tall Dark and Handsome for the “Dark and Stormy” classic cocktail.

Tall Dark and Handsome (Dark and Stormy)

How about the Meant to Be Mojito? Or the Blushing Bride (which is so easy as you can use a White Zinfandel).

#4 Name Your Drink After Your Wedding Theme

There are many good options that will work for #4. You could name it after the place. Let’s say you get married in Alpine Valley. Your Signature Cocktail could be the Alpine Valley Aperol Spritz.

You could have a Signature Cocktail called the Royal Blueberry Mule and make your Moscow Mule with Blueberry Vodka and fresh blueberries if one of your wedding colors is blue.

Limoncello Prosecco Cocktail

On the other hand, if your colors are yellow you could serve the Lemoncello-Prosecco Signature Cocktail. This one is a real favorite of mine!

Depending on the time of day of your wedding you could even have that in your drink name. Try the Morning Mimosa or the Evening El Diablo Margarita.

#5 Hobbies or Season Of Wedding

Let’s say you two love Astronomy, you could name your drink The Bailey’s Comet which is an actual drink and you wouldn’t have to change the name.

How about if you were fitness buffs who owned a gym? You could make The Webster’s Ketel Bell Cosmo (Just a Keto Cosmopolitan with a twist on the name). This drink is a really good choice as it is lower in calories which is probably appreciated by workout enthusiasts.

If you are having a winter wedding, you could name your drink the Spiced Winter Mojito or the Winter Wonderland Cosmo.

Garden Gin Lemonade

Outdoor weddings are so fun to plan. You could mix up a batch of Garden Gin Lemonade (Floral Gin Lemonade). The bonus with this one is that lemonade is so refreshing on a summer day, and you could put some edible flowers or a sprig of rosemary or mint in the glass to dazzle your guests.

Guests Will Love Your Imagination

Your options are as big as your imagination so go wild. As long as you are committed to making this a memorable day you can’t go wrong.
