A Little Fizz Helps Keep the Party Going in Your New Year’s Eve Cocktails
Another party is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking about the perfect New Year’s Eve cocktails to help ring in the New Year!
The common go-to for ringing in the New Year for many people is champagne. But I believe everyone should toast the New Year with what taste’s best to them.
I always try to provide a few options for my New Year’s celebratory drinks. This year I chose two fruity recipes so we can dive into the new year on a sweet and fizzy note!
Three Ingredient New Year’s Eve Cocktail To Please Your Palate
My first New Year’s cocktail is a Kir Royale. It is so easy to make as it only has three ingredients and it adds a sweet and tart boost to your champagne or Prosecco.
You could play bartender all night with the Kir Royale if desired or just use it to toast as the ball drops at midnight.
This French cocktail tastes like champagne that has been infused with a juicy berry and has a nice sweet, tart bite with a little fizz. This cocktail will be perfect for celebrating.
Kir Royale Recipe
- 1-ounce Creme de Cassis
- 4 ounces Champagne or Prosecco
- Raspberries for garnish
First, pour the Creme de Cassis into your champagne flute. Next, add your champagne or prosecco. Top it off with a couple of raspberries. Cheers!

Gin and Champagne Punch Recipe With A Twist Or Two
Since Gin is one of my go-to’s I decided to make a Gin Punch. This cocktail needed to be fruity and fun.
I decided to mix up a batch of my favorite Gin Punch Cocktail. The Pineapple Gin Punch will be the perfect twist for this festive occasion.

As the Ball Drops – New Year Traditions Near and Far
Our New Year’s traditions have always revolved around toasting, kissing, and hugging our loved ones. Across the world, there are many interesting traditions that need to be noted. Have you tried any of these to start the New Year?
- Eating 12 grapes. This is a tradition based out of Spain. This requires you to eat 12 grapes (once for every ring of the bell, if you even have a bell that rings these days) at the stroke of Midnight. If done correctly you should receive good luck for the upcoming year.
- Wearing a certain color of underwear. This is a South American tradition. Those who wish for happiness, wealth, and luck should wear new Yellow underpants. Persons looking for love and romance would wear Red underpants. Those looking for happiness, harmony, and peace should just wear White underpants. Finally, wear Green if you want plain old well-being.
- Throwing furniture out of the window. This tradition comes from Italy and it symbolizes a fresh start for the New Year. They may say furniture but they also include things like blankets, towels, and other household items.
- Mass Kissing (our favorite) This comes from Venice, Italy. When the clock strikes 12 you go around and share a kiss with everyone nearby.
- Sprinkling salt on your doorstep. This is a tradition from Turkey where at the stroke of midnight you sprinkle salt on your doorstep. This tradition will promote peace and prosperity for your upcoming year.
- Sleeping Mistletoe. This tradition comes from Ireland. For everyone with mistletoe hanging during the holidays and looking for love, it is said to sleep with mistletoe under their pillow on New Year’s Eve. It will help you find your true love in the upcoming year.
- Dress in Dots. In the Philipines, it is well known to dress in dots. It will greatly increase your chance of good luck in the upcoming year!

Renee! First, I love how you chose a simple recipe with common ingredients AND a more complex one for those who want to flex their bartending skills. THEN to give me fun new traditions to try out with my family is even cooler. In the south, we cook collard greens and something else as a New Year Day meal. I never participate in that tradition but my best friend does. Love this article. Cant wait to pop that Kir Royals. Happy New Year!🎊
Thank you so much for the positive feedback. I will be popping the Kir Royale as well!!
