Garden Party Spritz with a background of mint and strawberries

Celebrate Mom with Something a Little More Special This Year: The Garden Party Spritz

Mother’s Day always feels like the unofficial start of extra sunshine and the people who matter most gathered around the table. My Garden Party Spritz will get you off to a great start.

Making Plans for the Incredible Women In My Life

Planning ahead, I was thinking that this year I’d like to skip the basic mimosa and try something a little more elevated for my Mother’s Day celebration.

The Garden Party Spritz is light, floral, and just sweet enough to feel like a treat without being heavy.

It’s also incredibly easy to make, which means less time mixing and more time enjoying brunch, laughter, and maybe even a quiet moment in the sunshine.

And because not everyone drinks, I’ve included a mocktail version that’s just as beautiful and just as delicious. Because everyone deserves something special in their glass.

Hosting Tip: Create a Simple Mother’s Day Moment

You don’t need an elaborate setup to make Mother’s Day feel special. With just a few thoughtful touches, you can turn your cocktail into an experience.

Start by leaning into the garden-inspired feel of the drink. Fresh flowers go a long way here. Even a small bouquet from the grocery store or a few clippings from your yard can instantly elevate your table.

Keep your setup light and relaxed:

  • Use a simple tray or wooden board to serve your drinks

  • Add a small bowl of fresh strawberries or citrus slices for color

  • Bring out your prettiest glassware (this is the day for it!)

For food pairings, think easy and brunch-friendly

  • Mini pastries or croissants baked fresh or from your favorite bakery

  • A light fruit platter

  • Soft cheeses with crackers or a simple charcuterie board

(check out this one below for a special added touch)

And most importantly – slow it down. Let guests serve themselves, snack as they go, and actually enjoy the moment.

Because Mother’s Day isn’t about perfection, it’s about creating a space where everyone feels appreciated and celebrated.

Make It a Signature Moment: DIY Spritz Bar Worth Sipping

If you want to take things up just one notch (without making it complicated), set up a DIY Spritz Bar.

This not only looks beautiful, but it also lets everyone customize their drink, which people love.

Here’s how to set it up:

  • A bottle of Sparkling Rosé (and a non-alcoholic Sparkling Rose or Sparkling White Grape Juice)

  • Elderflower liqueur (and Elderflower syrup for the Mocktail version)

  • Strawberry purée

  • Lemon slices and lemon juice

  • Soda water

  • Garnishes like strawberries, mint, and edible flowers (This post may contain Amazon affiliate links. By clicking on an affiliate link I may financially benefit at no extra cost to you.)

Arrange everything on a tray or small table with basic directions and let guests build their own version of the Garden Party Spritz. (I always add less Rose to mine, so I would love this option.)

It becomes more than just a drink; it turns into an experience, a conversation starter, and one of those little details people remember long after the day is over.

Even the children would love to make their own Mocktail. Just be careful to arrange the alcoholic ingredients away from them.
