This cocktail is like a party in your mouth, with the fruity flavor of bubblegum dancing alongside the zesty kick of lemonade. It’s the perfect drink to sip on while lounging by the pool, catching up with friends, or looking for a fun and easy way to liven up your next get-together.
But before we get to the nitty-gritty of how to make this tasty concoction, let’s take a quick trip down memory lane and learn a bit about where bubblegum came from in the first place.
Was The Invention Of Bubblegum An Accident?
In 1906 Frank Henry Fleer invented what was called Blibber-Blubber (the first bubblegum) but Walter Diemer, a Jr. Accountant at the Fleer Company, perfected bubble gum in 1928 when he was asked to watch the batch briefly while it was in process one day (the first accident).
He became interested in making it better and worked on the process. After four long months, Dubble Bubble was invented and Walter then changed careers and became part of the management team.
The pink color was the second accidental happening.
On the day they were finishing the process, they realized the dull gray color wouldn’t be a good selling point. The only food coloring available was pink to add to the mixture. The finished product was delightful.
Bubblegum Vodka Infusion
First, let’s create our bubble gum-infused vodka:
1. Quarter 20 pieces of Dubble Bubble bubblegum and place them in a sealable glass jar
2. Add 2 cups of vodka to the jar and seal it.
3. Stir or shake the mixture every 4-6 hours for a minimum of 24 hours.
4. After 24 hours, strain the infusion through a coffee filter to remove any gum residue.

How About Hard Bubblegum Lemonade Shots
You can also make this delicious recipe into fun shots with a yummy gumball as your prize. I always make sure to add the 7-up at the end and not shake it with the other ingredients.
I recently made a batch for a baby shower and we used pretty blue gumballs since the baby is a little boy. They were a big hit!
