The Dazzling Taste of the Sweet Georgia Martini

Friday Night Cocktails

Friday nights are date nights. One of my favorite restaurants is 501 Bar and Grill in Flint Michigan because they serve my favorite drink, the Sweet Georgia Martini.

They also serve many other fine cocktails and beer, but that is for another day.

Bartenders Choice

On our first visit to 501 Bar and Grill with our friends years ago, my best friend and I couldn’t decide on what drinks to try. The bartender asked us what we liked and he surprised us with the Sweet Georgia Martini.

That Magnificent Taste

When taking my first taste, it was magnificent. It was very smooth and I could tell right away that there was peach involved. I could also smell blackberry and mint.

The Sweet Georgia Martini is true to its name ‘Sweet’ just like the sweet Georgia peach. But she also has a sassy side! This sweet drink packs a powerful punch.

Have You Ever Danced on the Table?

My friend and I usually each try to only have 1 ½ Sweet Georgia Martini’s each because we have found that when we drink two (or more) we come out of our shells a bit much (and our husbands will attest that we are already very outgoing and don’t need any help).

These days the bartender will make one and split it into two glasses for us when it comes to round two for our evening cocktails.

Why Are Martini’s So Strong?

The reason Martini’s are so strong is that they are mostly alcohol and served neat. They are not made for quick drinking but for sipping. An average martini is about 40% ABV which is about 80 proof.

Just as an example my recipe calls for 4 ounces of vodka. This is more than half of the liquid of the entire drink.

This Recipe is Perfect

Below I will share this recipe with you to make from home.

However, if you are close enough to Flint, Michigan you should go for a visit and let the bartender make this delicious drink for you!!

I’m sure you will love this drink as it happens to be one of my favorites of all time!
